What is a Community of Practice?
A Community of Practice (CoP) is a group of people who share a common concern, are encountering a common challenge or set of problems, or simply maintain an interest in a topic, and come together to fulfil both individual and group goals. CoPs often focus on sharing – whether it is related to exploring a challenge more deeply, roadblocks they are facing, best practices and tools, etc., and from that dialogue creating new knowledge to advance a domain of professional practice. Thus, productive, and healthy interaction on an ongoing basis is important to maintaining a strong community.
Why should you get involved?
This opportunity directly allows you to be involved in Saolta’s mission by bringing in your own creativity while setting up connections with like-minded passionate individuals. From online meetings to in-person workshops, Saolta’s Communities of Practice are suited for all interest levels and people with varying time commitments, With meetings only once every couple of months (depending on demand), participants are able to bring ideas discussed in their own organisations and continue to develop them in order to provide and be provided valuable input on a regular basis in order to affect real change.

What Communities of Practice are offered?
Saolta offers two Communities of Practice which are directly addressing two key topics people and organisations have said are of importance to them: climate and environment as well equality, diversity, and inclusion. These two Communities of Practice are open to all people and organisations who either wish to promote their work on these topics or become more informed on how to get involved.
