Making spACE for GCE – On Nov 5, Dublin’s historic Richmond Barracks hosted educators, activists, and community leaders for “Making spACE for GCE” – a powerful event spotlighting ways to embed Global Citizenship Education in Adult & Community Education and the work that is already being done. Keynote speaker Kathleen Lynch urged for a justice-centred approach in education, inspiring conversations on equality and social impact. Panellists and breakout sessions delved into inclusivity, critical thinking, and collective action, uniting voices from across Ireland to celebrate social justice and lifelong learning. “This event reflects a collective commitment to education as a vehicle for social justice,” said Nick Doran, Programme Manager of Saolta. “Together, we’re creating pathways to empower individuals and communities to actively engage with the world’s most pressing challenges.”.
